Reaper Bones – Tiik Warriors – Strange Aeons – Deep Ones

Posted in Finished Projects, Lovecraftian Stuff with tags , , , , , , on January 9, 2015 by kleinerzorn

Tiik Warrior Deep ones Kopiei just finished two more deep one miniatures

this time its the Tiik Warriors from Reapers Bones Series

I coverted the vl Deep one a bit by removing the lower jaw and changing the angle of the arm… also i removed the Anglerfish thingy growing from its forehead….. But i kept the one on the visual right side as it was manufactured

I wanted to buy those minis for a long time now….but had to order them through a local Gaming store cause the postage to germany was way to expensive to have them shipped to germany fropm the states

exspecially considering that the miniatures themselve are so friggin cheap to buy

Reaper Bones Cthulhu aka Godling Conversion

Reaper Bones Cthulhu - Godling Pip

i decited to use Quickshader on this mini…even though there is a risk that it will react with the head….but i tested it again after priming the head with varnish and it seemed to work…so i guess it will dry and not stay sticky…..

Theres still a lot to do still….i have to paint the base…and use varnish to make some parts less shiny…..i think i will spraypaint the varnish on it but will tape up the parts that should stay shiny beforehand…..

Reaper Bones Cthulhu Conversion

so i finally started working on my Cthulhu conversion

sadly i discovered that the head is so soft i cant paint it with army painter quickshader ( because it wont harden and will stay sticky ! i tested it on a tentacle) ….thus the mini wont look similar to the rest of my deep ones !

Reaper bones Cthulhu Conversion

i really did not like the flimsy original wings that come with the model so i went to a Yardsale yesterday and bought some shitty toy dragon who i relieved of its wings

also i addet a few more eyes , fixed the gap between the body and the tail , and addet and will add a few more tentacles to the sides

i really dont get why i have not seen any conversions of this mini before, the material is great to work with

in the end i think it will make a great Godling for any strage aeons game to come !

Nightgaunt conversion

“But Carter preferred to look at them than at his captors, which were indeed shocking and uncouth black things with smooth, oily, whale-like surfaces, unpleasant horns that curved inward toward each other, bat wings whose beating made no sound, ugly prehensile paws, and barbed tails that lashed needlessly and disquietingly. And worst of all, they never spoke or laughed, and never smiled because they had no faces at all to smile with, but only a suggestive blankness where a face ought to be. All they ever did was clutch and fly and tickle; that was the way of night-gaunts.”

H.P. Lovecraft, Dream-Quest Of Unknown Kadath

Nightghaunt

This was a fun miniature to convert and paint

all in all it did not take much work and i am hugely impressed by the overall look. it may be a bit bigger then most people think nightghaunts to be , but i allways imagined it big enough to lift a human or a moonbeast off the ground, and having enough muscle to actually hold them, and lovecraft never comented on the size of a nightghaunt as far as i know 😀

also here is a progression picture
