2 Scrawny ones and Pentacles

Posted in Finished Projects, Lovecraftian Stuff with tags , , , , , , on November 13, 2014 by kleinerzorn

I finished some pentacles to use in Strange Aeons

Trapped inside a powerful magic pentacle, the Scrawny One needs a blood sacrifice
to enter our world

Scrawny ones and pentacles

As he extended the bloody knife toward
the pentacle there was a flicker of the scrawny shape, and that
part of the blade which protruded beyond the rim was licked clean of blood.
“The Scrawny One, by Anthony Boucher”

The Miniatures are originally two small Cthulhu statues from fantasy flight games Bag of Cthulhu

Reaper Bones Cthulhu Conversion

Posted in Lovecraftian Stuff with tags , , , , , , on November 10, 2014 by kleinerzorn

so i finally started working on my Cthulhu conversion

sadly i discovered that the head is so soft i cant paint it with army painter quickshader ( because it wont harden and will stay sticky ! i tested it on a tentacle) ….thus the mini wont look similar to the rest of my deep ones !

Reaper bones Cthulhu Conversion

i really did not like the flimsy original wings that come with the model so i went to a Yardsale yesterday and bought some shitty toy dragon who i relieved of its wings

also i addet a few more eyes , fixed the gap between the body and the tail , and addet and will add a few more tentacles to the sides

i really dont get why i have not seen any conversions of this mini before, the material is great to work with

in the end i think it will make a great Godling for any strage aeons game to come !

Nightgaunt conversion

“But Carter preferred to look at them than at his captors, which were indeed shocking and uncouth black things with smooth, oily, whale-like surfaces, unpleasant horns that curved inward toward each other, bat wings whose beating made no sound, ugly prehensile paws, and barbed tails that lashed needlessly and disquietingly. And worst of all, they never spoke or laughed, and never smiled because they had no faces at all to smile with, but only a suggestive blankness where a face ought to be. All they ever did was clutch and fly and tickle; that was the way of night-gaunts.”

H.P. Lovecraft, Dream-Quest Of Unknown Kadath

This was a fun miniature to convert and paint

all in all it did not take much work and i am hugely impressed by the overall look. it may be a bit bigger then most people think nightghaunts to be , but i allways imagined it big enough to lift a human or a moonbeast off the ground, and having enough muscle to actually hold them, and lovecraft never comented on the size of a nightghaunt as far as i know 😀

also here is a progression picture

Reaper Gargoyle to Nightghaunt

Night Ghaunt WIP

I picked up a Reaper Bones Mini called ” Mortar the Gargoyle”

and thought it will make a great Nightghaunt ( as i dont like any of the models Available)

also the Reaper Bones Minis are great choices for converting!

So i removed the face, addet some horns from an old Khorne Champions head and addet a tail

It came together in a great way

so just for the fun of it i decited to eter a speed painting competition

i had 30 minutes to fonish the Miniature and i am surprised how well it turned out

TTN Speedpainting

it was a pretty fun competition to do and i can only urge anyone to try out competitions like this

but try to paint some unimportant model youve got because it would be a shame to mess up a great new model with a sub parr paintjob

I painted the mini using mostly drybrushing techniques…same goes for the base….

Thanks to the Tabletop Network Facebook group for this fun liddle competition

I buildt myself two deamon princes for a flying circus army list

the first one is a deamon princo of Khorne

Deamon prince of khorne WIPThe base for the model was a Dreamblade model with a head replacement of yet another dreamblade model ! I also addet Ork Waaaghboss arms as i thought they fit sizewise and the weapons look khorn…ish enough

Deamonprince khorne

i really had fun painting it and i think the weapons work great ! also the head strongly reminds me of the deadra entitys of the Elder scrolls games

im very glad with how it turned out , and it did cost me about 3 € ( time spendt to build and paint it not includet obviusly)

The second one is a Deamon prince of Tzeentch

Daemon prince Tzeentch WIP

i consider it finished and will likekly start painting it this week….. the base model is some kind of Dungeons & dragons deamon, and the headpiece of the Staff is from some GW chaos set ( either CSM or Chaos deamons)
